But as a test they Bauers (Luke Wilson), the most under-achieving and most average pilot. They also pick Rita, a prostitute who agreed to be a test subject in exchange for her criminal charges to be dropped. The project which was scheduled to run for only a year is abandoned because the officer in charge to head it was caught up in a scandal. So Bauers and Rita was forgotten for the longest time until the wake up in the year 2505. When they wake up, they soon find out that the country is run by a bunch of idiots and they find themselves to be the smartest people in the country.
